What has changed in New Zealand job market during the global pandemic?

What has changed in New Zealand job market during the global pandemic and how do we respond to the change?

The number of unemployment people during current 4 weeks' lockdown is at almost 170,000 across many industries and sectors. Kiwi companies are facing the crisis that we have never faced before, business need to change to survive, perhaps this is our opportunity to become a technology orientated nation.

From what I can see, employers want people who can make data-based decisions, adapt well to change and are continuous learners. The future market can be driven by automation, the rise in virtual digital platform and human engagement technologies.

If you are in a position to change your job, you have time to prepare yourself for the job hunt. This may begin with updating and re-formatting your CV, registering with recruitment agencies, researching areas of interest or gaining extra qualifications online etc.

Time to get busy people.
